About Ghost Alarm
In today's modern housing market, design matters just as much as safety, but traditional smoke detectors haven't kept up. Bulky, outdated and visually intrusive, they disrupt clean ceilings and clash with contemporary interiors. Our Ghost Alarm is a Smoke and carbon monoxide detector with a state of the art drop down visual detection and integrated with a customer provided down light, which redefines what a safety device can be: seamless, elegant and intelligently integrated.
Ghost Alarm is an innovative system, combining a fully functional smoke and carbon monoxide detection alarm with an adaptive recessed lighting platform, which allows the unit to blend effortlessly into the ceiling. Designed to accept a standard four inch pot light, the unit offers unmatched flexibility, allowing builders, designers and homeowners to match their existing lighting styles without compromise.
The result of Ghost Alarm is a safety device that no longer looks like an afterthought. Instead it becomes a part of the home's architectural design, timeless, minimal and virtually invisible, like a ghost.

Beyond aesthetics, Ghost Alarm is engineered with purpose. In the event of an alarm state, the unit's drop down mechanism enhances visibility awareness, ensuring the alert is not only heard, but seen.
For added versatility, Ghost Alarm accommodates installations where lighting is not desired. A clean blank face option can be installed in place of the pot light.
The unit is mechanically separate from the lighting system. Allowing for lighting to work seamlessly through the unit, creating a well respected environment for all to see. This separation ensures electrical integrity, simplifies servicing and allows the lighting system to remain fully operational regardless of the alarm state.
Ghost Supply's Ghost Alarm is designed to meet applicable Canadian and U.S. life safety standards and is being engineered with certification requirements in mind from the earliest stages of development.

Our vision at Ghost Supply is clear.
-
Have Ghost Alarm stocked in major electrical distributors.
-
Expand into big box retail channels
-
Become the preferred solution for builders, designers, electricians and homeowners.
-
To redefine smoke and carbon monoxide detection as both a safety requirement and design feature.

We aim to position Ghost Alarm as the premium, design integrated alternative within a traditionally commodity driven category.
Installation
Important: Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with all applicable local electrical and fire safety codes.

-
Turn off power at the main electrical panel and confirm it is off.
-
Choose location and cut a ceiling opening (~7 inches), ensuring proper clearance above.
-
Prepare wiring by bringing in power for the alarm and pot light (if used).
-
Connect wires to the labeled terminals, keeping alarm and lighting circuits separate.
-
Mount the unit by inserting it into the ceiling and tightening the clamps until secure and flush.
-
Connect pot light (if applicable) using the built-in wiring whip and secure the junction box safely in the ceiling cavity.
-
Install cover and light to complete the ceiling finish.
-
Restore power and test the system to confirm sound, light, and visual alert all function correctly.

Certification and Regulations
Ghost Alarm is being engineered to meet Canadian and North American life safety standards from inception, positioning the product for legal installation, contractor adoption, and retail distribution.
The unit will be evaluated through CSA Group certification and provincial approval through the Electrical Safety Authority, with testing aligned to UL Solutions standards including UL 217 (smoke alarms) and UL 2034 (carbon monoxide alarms).
Certification testing includes controlled smoke chamber validation, carbon monoxide exposure curve testing, audible output verification (85 dBA minimum), strobe flash compliance, thermal and surge protection analysis, battery endurance verification, firmware fail-safe review, and mechanical reliability testing of the drop-down alarm mechanism.
The formal submission process includes engineering file review, laboratory evaluation of sample units, compliance testing, corrective revisions if required, and production audit authorization. Typical certification timelines range from four to eight months.
Achieving CSA/UL certification creates a meaningful barrier to entry, establishes regulatory defensibility, and unlocks contractor, builder, and distributor channels across Canada. This milestone represents a critical value inflection point for Ghost Supply as the company transitions from prototype to approved life safety manufacturer.
